Aor received current visa expires in 24 days options ?

Hello I'm on a IEC working holiday visa which expires in 24 days.
I'm working , should I apply for a bridging visa ?hopefully in the time it takes for a decision I will have PR.

I got a AOR in June 17th , Im assuming it takes 3 months for PR ??

You can apply to change your status to visitor and remain in Canada.

Unless you have receive "an Acknowledgment of Receipt letter that confirms the application has passed R10 completeness (this is not the Electronic receipt of APR notice but the letter [Acknowledgement of Receipt] issued in GCMS).", you can't apply for a BOWP.

My suggestion is apply through paper(mail) for a BOWP, since the process is slow this will give you 3-4 months, but you gotta do that while you have a valid work permit. While they are evaluating your BOWP you are considered as "implied status" and can continue to work legally without any issues.

In the mean time, your EE application might receive a second AOR or even a PPR.

That is what I would do in your shoes.

- I think you should assume it will take 6 months to process (+or - ).
- you're right, technically "implied status" does not apply to those on IEC permits. So you should stop working until you get a new permit.
- If you want to work before the PR is finalized, apply for the BOWP online (assuming you have the actual AOR, not the just eAPR).
- only you can decide whether it is worth it to you to try for the BOWP, change to a visitors permit (no work allowed, but you can stay in the country), or wait out the processing of the PR application outside Canada.

Thanks for the replies.

I understand there's a risk applying for a BOWP then going on implied status. Its very risky, obviously I'll loose my job if I give up working leave and come back on a tourist visa. Wait around until I've a PR decision.
Big picture is PR.life time.

I have AOR medicals are passed since mid June.
At what stage do I legally have PR ? If my PR expires on the 29 and I get decision made on the 28th can I still continue working?

Also how does my sin work on implied status?do I need to do anything.

When you LAND as a permanent resident, only then.

No. To legally work, you have to wait until you get your COPR, and then complete your landing.

Your SIN will remain yours, even if you lose your status in the country. But you won't be able to renew it without a valid work permit, or PR status (when you get PR, your number will change, but the old number will be linked with the new).
