Had anyone else received an AOR (or at least we think it is) by email?
This is what the email said

Dear Applicant:

This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Regional Programme Centre (RPC) and that a file has been created for you. Your file number appears above. Quote this number when corresponding with our office.

Will we receive a physical letter that indicates the date it began processing? Or is this separate from AOR? I thought that maybe the AOR was an indication your file is being processed...can someone please confirm?

Thanks!

That's the email I got, and I've yet to get an AOR in snail mail... in spite of the fact that I was notified of transfer to another office by snail mail.. so maybe that's all we're going to get? I don't know, but it's good to know I'm not the only one :)

It's not on ecas yet....tried the file number they provided - no info, the client # from when it was transferred to Buff and the receipt number and these only have "Decision Made" under sponsorship and no other info on the PR. Should I be worried that it isn't online yet? I'm curious as to the day it became in process. Creating a file is the same as "In Process" right? Or is that another update I will have to wait on?

Thanks for the reassurance sbvw09!

some IOs don't update ecas, so don't base anything off of what may or may not appear there.

and yes, I believe creating a file means "in process" - it means they've opened your application and acknowledged it.
