I am a Health and Safety Officer with 5 years of experience in oil and gas industry and seeking advice from experts and my colleagues who have already successfully settled and working either in Edmonton or Toronto. I ll be landing soon however haven't decided yet which city Edmonton or Toronto would suit me best.
Actually I am more inclined to Toronto as being metropolitan city, financial center, diverse culture etc. I like metropolitan life style however I am not sure I could find a decent job in my field in there and leade a decent newcomer life. Also due to fewer jobs in my field in Toronto, there will be more competition and subsequently less wages.
Second option Edmonton or Calgary because of oil sector, more jobs in my field and various provincial benefits like health care premiums rebate and 0 sales taxes although these benefits are being slipped away by higher prices in Edmonton comparing to Toronto.
Under these circumstances would I be able to find a job in Toronto? What are my chances of being successfully settled in Toronto and is Toronto a good option for a newcomer in my field?
