Anyone with experience in getting Syrian police clearance cert in Dubai?

Hi all,

This morning my husband went to the Syrian consulate in Dubai to request a police clearance certificate for the years he lived in Syria. He couldn't even get past the security at the gate who politely told him that they cannot help him and that only Syria could issue this. He obviously can't return to Syria to obtain this. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience on how this can be obtained? The info on the CIC website for getting PCC's for Syria is old (pre-war).

Hi Nura,

We found out later that if you go to the Syrian embassy in Abu Dhabi that you can apply for a PCC. You need to bring with you:

1) Syrian ID, plus a copy of it.
2) Passport, plus a copy of it
3) Visa, plus a copy of it (usually in passport)

Unfortunately, you won't get any sort of receipt. Then check back with them in about a month to see if it has come in...someone else found out that they are unlikely to call you if it is ready...so you will have to call them.

Syrian police certificate cannot issue out of Syria from any embassies in all the world... you must get it from Syria . I had the same problem ,before we applied , you just have to send your Syrian ID copy , and a proof of your husbands residency in Dubai to Syria if you still have friends there , and they can get it easily and send it to you ..

Hi. There are people who have successfully obtained a police clearance certificate from Syria via the Syrian embassy in Abu Dhabi within the past few months. One needs to go in person with originals and copies of their 1) Syrian ID, 2) passport 3) UAE visa

One cannot get a PCC from the Syrian consulate in Dubai.

You indicate that the PCC can be obtained easily in Syria by family members....not so easily depending on which city / neighbourhood the families are from in Syria.
