Anyone on a Working Holiday Visa??

Ooops I had the same question, nobody seemed to answer it here...
Will they shorten my visa if they find out I have insufficient insurance coverage?

They didn't even check my insurance at all but had it for 1 year anyway. If they do check it and it's for less than a year, they can issue a work permit just for the duration of your insurance
I got checked for my travel insurance on both my first and second year, some people didnt get asked at all, all depends on the officer you get at the border.Vancouverite89 said:

They didn't ask me about travel insurance at the airport anyway. I did have a returning flight for 6 months later as I was returning home for Christmas and to be fair you don't know if you're going to enjoy your time in Canada and want to leave early. When I got to Vancouver and had a job I joined the provincial coverage and have private medical through work anyway. I really don't think you need to purchase it for the entire timeframe.
I knew I'd get provincial coverage after I arrived, so just did an annual plan which would be -and was- refunded for the remaining time after I got my provincial coverage. Pretty neat ;Dbritinvancouver said:
The easiest way to find out if you are eligible is to contact the provincial healthcare directly to find out if you are eligible for their coverage. Basically my understanding is that you will need to meet certain requirements to become eligible (work type, amount of hours etc.)
