Hello everyone,

My name is Ryan and its my first time posting on this forum. Heres the situation, I am born and raised in the USA and am the owner of my distribution business. I would like to expand the business out to Canada. I have done some research and it seems under NAFTA there is the intra-company transfer startup program in which executive members can get a temporary work permit to come in to Canada and setup shop. The permit than can be extended after a year after successfully staffing the new operation with Canadian citizens. I was hoping to see if anyone on the board has gone thru the process and would care to elaborate on the procedure and there experience.

Thank You
Ryan

I assume you've already read through all of this:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/opinion/transferees/requirements.asp

Your question is regarding a very specific allowance under NAFTA and I suspect you probably won't get any answers here. This is probably one of those cases where it makes sense to hire an immigration lawyer if you want assistance or advice about the process.

Good luck.
