Steaky is right....if u r driving and intend to drive but do not yet have a valid canadian driving license, it is best if u check out Icbc website and get the docs ready to save u time and hassle later. Not sure about the requirement for Singapore, but for a Malaysian, I have to get my driving license translated into English and attested as well. Thereafter, there is a written driving test that I have to pass as my Malaysian driving license only allows me to drive for up to 90 days. The link below shld give u a clear idea what is required.

Lastly, do not forget t have your local insurance company issue a letter that confirms your driving experience and zero claim status in Singapore in order to qualify for insurance discounts which can be very expensive
