Hi
Just wondering if any of the forum members had to sale their land or housing property to prove settlement fund? If yes could you please share the process? What are the documents you provided in support of property sale and as source of liquid cash deposit in bank to the CHC? As we know any large deposit in bank has to be properly explained or documented as per CHC instruction is there anybody who defended it some other way? Is property in the name of wife can be sold (as property is not accepted as POF in most of CHC) and be used as POF for principal applicant?

Your comments, linked resources, suggestions will be highly appreciated

It will be of great help for me as I need to prove my POF for the 3rd time and have a property for sale....

Thnx in advance

cheers
fariza

First am just excited that you are an applicant from the Sydney office just like I am.
I did indeed sell some property to bump up my POF and it showed in my statement as a large deposit injected all at once and of course the consulate did not like this.
Anyhow, what I did was to first send in 12 months statements with the large deposit showing in the final months and the consulate accepted this, but later on, about three weeks ago, they sent me a letter saying that my initial assessment is complete and my interview has been waived but I need to send further proof to show that the large fund deposit is trully mine and to show that it is still in the account- they asked me for the most recent 6month statements to clear this, I duly sent these.
So my advice is to act like a lawyer on this one, do not offer more information than is requested, if the consulate finds what you have sent inadequate, they will ask you to buffer it, but if they say nothing, say nothing too and so in this case just send them the statement with the large fund deposit and wait for them to say something- they might not and you will be scot free.
On another note, I am now waiting for my medicals request and I am thinking I will get it before months end

Hi aKenyan,
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Can I ask when you had submitted your full documents?
Do you know if a property in itself can be presented as proof of funds?

But as I told at interview that CHC, Sydney don't accept property as POF, it has to be liquids and as unencumbered fund

How Much Funds Should you Bring?

It has been instructed to Visa officers not to refuse applicants on the basis of not being able to provide the required proof of funds. The following criterias are to be considered:

spouse's potential for employment
genuine offers of employment
genuine offers of accommodation
general assistance from family and friends
transferable skills of applicant

The applications of proof of funds and the criterias above are vary from post to post in accordance wi th the particular circumstances of an applicant's case.

Moreover, certain visa officers adhere to a practice of requesting longevity of fund possession for up to one year, while other officers will issue visas upon t he production of proffs of current deposits or bank drafts in the name of applicant, spouse or over-age dependent child.

In the case when applicants cannot provide proof funds upon request, he or she can petition the visa office to hold the dispositon of the case in abeyance for a reasonable period of time, pending efforts by the applicant to comply with this statutory requirement.
