hello!
Im just wondering if anyone of you here who are 2013 permanent resident who already applied for citizenship? I was granted as a Permanent Resident on 2013 July..during that day,the immigration officer told me that i was credited for 1 year which means i could apply for citizenship on july 2015..by the way,i came here in canada on feb 3,2009..I tried to use the Physical Presence Calculator and it says there that im not eligible yet to apply, otherwise my application will be returned..now im confuse about what the immigration officer told me before...Pls can someone here help me? I wanted to apply now because i know that the payment for citizenship will increase again and im just a working student..thank you in advance if you could answer my question.

Rules have changed as of June 11, 2015. No more credits given towards physical presence. "You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years immediately before the date of your application. You must also be physically present for at least 183 days during each of four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years immediately before the date of application. These requirements do not apply to children under 18".

Which means you will be eligible at least after July 2017 under the new rules.
