I am a March 2012 CEC applicant from outside Canada. Processing on my application started in September 2012. I completed my medical in November 2012 (it was acknowledged in the system as completed in January 2013). Status changed to "Decision made" in March 2013.

I then received an email mid-May 2013 saying that my application was "almost complete" and I was requested to pay the RPRF fee, send an email scan of my passport (because I am from a visa-exempt country) and confirm a few details (whether I had gotten married, eye colour etc). After paying the fee immediately and sending confirmation via email along with the other requested details, I have not received any confirmation of COPR or rejection of the application. They have acknowledged that they have received the documents. It has been over 2 months since I paid the fee (480 days since I filed my application) and I am still waiting for any kind of response/next step.

My understanding was that things moved fairly quickly after they tell you your application is "almost complete" and you pay the RPRF fee. I have seen that some people have also experienced their documents getting lost in the post and I know that the timing can be quite delicate as the COPR will have an expiry date attached to it (and our medicals expire after Nov 2013).

Can anyone else please advise how long it took them to finally receive their COPR after completing all of the other required stages of a CEC application and paying the RPRF???

Just trying to get an idea of how long I could possibly be waiting as it is hard to tell whether it could be another week, 2 months, or 6 months...

Thanks!

Steven

Hi Steven.

You are March'12 applicant - paid RPRF - even got DM status in March'13 - but they still haven't contacted you for COPR.

I am a Sep'12 - so I am no where near the group that has experienced this much delay...so far. I can only imagine how patient you have been all this long. I hope March 2012 applicants are reading this and will respond to you. I just thought to share few actions you may take regarding the progress of your application.

1- How recently did you email CIC? If you haven't in the past 30 days, send them an email right away
-show concern that you have paid RPRF and DM appears on your ECAS, what is the progress on your application. Is there any document that is holding off the progress.

2- Have you already requested for a GCMS (aka ATIP) report? I'm sure you know what is GCMS - Its basically a brief report that will show which parts of your application has already been Passed, or still In-progress (and hopefully none are Not-Started). Incase your Criminality/Security are taking time, perhaps that may be delaying your application. Or it could be that all of those stages are Passed and CIC is just sitting on your file, warming it...:) So you can then email them and say, hey! i know that i have passed all stages could you please inform me what's delaying the progress on my application.

Since you are outside Canada, a friend or a family member residing in Canada can send this online request through official CIC webpage. Here's the link, pls do read the instructions once.

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en

But do email CiC right away, if you haven't done so already.

All the best Steven and I hope you receive your COPR soon.

For my case, I am one of March 2012 group.
Biodata, RPRF, passport copy request on July 9/2013.
I paid RPRF on July 9/2013 and DM on July 10/2013.
CIC recieved my copy of passport on July 11/2013.

I completed my medical in September 2012 and it took like 10 months to get biodata, RPRF and passport request.
I am guessing some of march 2012 applicants are experiencing long wait somehow

I'm a June 2012 applicant. I too paid my RPRF fees 2 months back and waiting for PPR. No update since then.

Infoseeker,

Thanks for your reply. I am glad to hear someone else thinks our situation is a bit strange and warrants following up.

We've got a friend in Vancouver who is applying for our information right now so let's hope for some news there. I've also just emailed Ottawa CPP about our situation too so I'm hoping to hear from them soon.

Really is frustrating, just because we seem so tantalizingly close.

Steven.
