Hi, I submitted my application for study permit on June 8th, 2015. Since the processing time is increasing everyday, I am concerned that I might not get my study permit once the semester starts on September 8th. is anyone in the same situation?

I applied on May 1st for an extension and got it approved only today. You can check with your college's International department on if you can attend classes from September 8th as you have applied for a permit with your application under process.

Thanks for your reply. You are right I should check with international student office in my school , but apparently your application processing took about 60 days. Is it true? The processing time on CIC website for study permit extension is 88 days now but they haven't updated the website for a while. They are maybe looking over applications faster now, at least I hope so.

Yeah, when I had applied the processing time was 63 days, I guess the 88 days given is not completely accurate for all cases as I had read about a few applications that were processed much quicker. Don't worry about it, I guess you might get yours much before your course begins, from what I know you can attend classes if your application is under process as you are under "implied" status.

Cheers!

Thank you quillnquire. So I found out that most schools have something as DNE (Did not enter) deadline which is usually in mid Sept. That is basically the deadline for informing school about your immigration status and drop your courses in case you are not allowed to register. I am pretty sure that my study permit will be ready by that date and hope everyone else including roadtofreedom16 also gets their study permit as soon as possible.

Hi I applied on May 23. No news yet. Did you apply for existing study permit extension or for a new study permit?
