Anybody know about UCI number?

Is it necessary to inform our Province after getting UCI number. I got my IME and UCI it along with my medical request form.
How long it takes to update online status (ECAS)after completing medical?
Bcoz I did my medical in 2011 and CIC never updated my status about receiving the medical , and now they have asked to re do medical.
I hv applied in 2010.
Plz members give your suggestion or your opinion about my case.
