Anybody else experiencing a longer-than-6-month processing time?

I submitted my application on June 14th, 2017, it's been a bit over 6 months now, and my status is still stuck at "we're processing your background check". Called IRCC and got a diplomatic answer of "all you can do at this point is wait...".

I'm under the CEC stream, applying for both myself and my wife, from within Canada.

Anybody else experiencing the same?
