Any visa-exempt Outlanders have trouble getting a visitor visa at the border?

As per my title, I was wondering if any Outland applicants from visa-exempt countries have ever had difficulty coming into Canada while their application was in progress? I would appreciate any responses!

I didn't have any problems.
My work permit expired on March 26, 2014. I went to the states from March 23 until April 2, 2014.
I came back as a tourist. The officer didn't ask any questions and gave me a 6 months stamp.

But it looks like you applied inland. Then you should NOT leave Canada. You risk your application. If the border officer denies you your PR application will be refused.

Hi, You should not have difficulty coming into Canada, while your application is in process, just explain to them the situation show proof of marriage, evan better if your spouse is with you.

when you tell them you have a PR application submitted, CBSA will look it up in their system to confirm it's been received and let you in. Generally, CBSA is more lenient when they know someone is following the rules and have an application submitted. If you haven't gotten through SA yet, make sure to bring proof of your application and fees paid, as it may not show up in their system as received.

Thank you for your response!
My inland application was returned to me unprocessed after 5 months of hearing nothing from CIC due to an outdated form and I just re-applied as Outland, I actually didn't know that was an option for me until I came on this forum! With the huge inland backlog I am actually glad this happened, especially given the fast processing times from the London visa office.
