Hi Guys,

I'd like to know if there are any restrictions as in landing or residing?

I am sure we are required to land in Quebec, Are you also bound to live in Quebec for certain period? Will that be implied only over residing in Quebec or to even work in Quebec? For instance, we live in Quebec but work in Ontario or Newfoundland & Labrador ?

I'll be grateful if you can come up with supportive links ?

Many thanks

Good question, lets wait for the experts

If you have no intentions to stay and work/study in Quebec it will be construed as misrepresentation when filing your application and you might be denied entry by Canada immigration. It is possible now or in future. I am not saying it is what the law says but I am saying it might happen.

Living in Quebec is a requirement too, morally speaking. Otherwise why would Quebec sponsor your PR? You can work outside Quebec and based on living in Quebec you will be paying your taxes to Quebec.

This was my concern. At the moment i live in Victoria(Australian state) close to its border & work in NSW. I pay my taxes in Victoria & have no issues. Was only concerned if this is a possibility in Canada too.

I personally like Quebec.

Interesting. Why are you planning to move from Australia to Canada?

I got my family there & thats the main reason.

Hello all, I know a lot friend study in Montreal and got PR then they move to Ontario, and up to now I never heard anyone get into trouble. But to be safe, I would stay in Quebec for at least 6 month.
