Hi all,
I have a work offer for an LMIA exempt temporary position (non essential, academic post-doc), I'm a European passport holder but my fiancé lives in Mexico. It seems that I have to stay in my current country of residence to apply for my work permit but that I could give biometrics in any VAC worldwide, and possibly via request also submit my passport to a VAC outside (?).
I am trying to figure out when is the time to visit my fiancé before (maybe abruptly) moving to Canada, I reckon either after submitting my initial application and while waiting for the biometrics letter, which is risky because it could be days or months apparently, or after finishing biometrics and waiting for my passport request letter (same risks).
Is anyone having recent experiences they can share to help me estimate the timeframes?
