Hi,

I am starting this new thread as my PPR is delayed too long because I guess of my 4 years stay in NZ. For NZ, unlike many other countries, no police clearance certificates PCCs are issued. The ministry of justice simpole isuues a letter saying whether your name appears on their records or not. If your name doesn't appear, it doesn't mean you have no criminal history as MOJ won't know of cases settled out of court. So CIC will carryt out an independent enquiry with NZ Police which could delay the backghround checks indefinitely. I think this is what is haqppenning in my case. If any of you have lived in NZ, it would be great to know how long it took for you to receive PPR after sendng your medicals. Mine is London VO. Please try to contribute :)

Is it only for NZ or even for Oz. as I have stayed in Oz for about 3 years.....

For Aus you need to get Australian Federal Police Certificate.

I know that part and already have sent the application with the finger prints, but my question was will it take more time than usual as NZ and Oz are known to have very similar systems...

i lived in uk for 8 years.i applied for pcc while i was in india.ACRO issues the police clearance certificate.
after doing some research, firstly i mail&email a letter to the police station of my area where i lived.they responded back with the answer to my query.i don't think staying in foreign land delay the processing.
if u have clean record then there is no need to worry.excessive travelling is cause of worry for the processing of application.

I don't take it will take forever. A couple of months should be expected.

thanks all for your inputs, but if there is any one with NZ travel history, if you could kindly share your expe plz, tx

I have been living in NZ for 1 year, but unfortunately i cannot provide much/any info regarding the PCC. All I had to give'em is a document from the NZ police website, a pdf to print, written on it the last address in NZ (christchurch), employer and signature. According to their instructions i have to attach it to my application and the VO (Ottawa in my case) will take of it by themselves, because NZ doesn't have a PCC as we know it.
I had to give 5 PCC's...including this one. It also includes the Fingerprinting here in Canada, which, btw, will only be used by INTERPOL..that's it, if your name doesn't show up there, you're fine.

that is my input. anymore questions? :)

Lets hope it won't take them to long to check. But NZ is Commonwealth....i'm sure they have their own "tools" to figure this one out. (Co-op)

Hi Canada100,

We have been living in NZ for almost 5 years and we already in waiting for our PP back after our Canadian PR to be stamp.

PPC here in NZ is just a simple request. Your VO will send you a form for you to sign and put your personal details and you are going to send it back to VO for them to ask for a police record from NZ. it is like an authorization from you for VO to secure a PCC. A letter from Ministry of Justice is not a valid PCC. Perviously, we can download a form and send it to a police office here in NZ and NZ police will send it directly to VO, this is what happen when we first apply in Canada but now when Canadian VO requested for an updated PCC, I visited tne NZ police website, no more forms available and no address where to contact them that's why I received the request from our VO.

Hope it will help you and good luck.

hi sanroque, many tx for your input. yes, i did send my completed authorisation for them to check the police records before my medicals. would you please tell me how long it took for you to get the ppr after the medicals was received by the visa office? as well, if you can recall how long it took to get the ppr after 'med results received' update was shown on your ecase. if u cud provide these info, that will answer my major concern. many tx

Hi Canada100,

It only took 2 months to get the PPR after we did our medical. ECAS status doesn't change. So it was a big surprised for us when we got it in our mailbox.

Be patient and all will be ok. We are now waiting for our passports with the maple leaf stamp on it.

Cheers.

Hi friends,
Hi friends,
Newzealand Pcc can take time...but fortunately cuz I had newzealands drivers license as id proof. I got PPR within 2 and half months. My time line is

App date - 19 Nov
PER - 11 Feb
Second AOR (Warsaw) - 17 March
SLU - 27 April
MR - 11 May
Medicals done - 12 May
TLU - 20 May
PPR - 6 August
DM - 6 August

Landing Edmonton

If any of you are facing problem, try getting Newzealand Pcc on your own behalf after waiting for about 3 months. You can write to privacy @ police.govt.nz and simply tell them you want your own personal history information from Newzealand police. Send your id proofs along. Write your name, dob, address of Newzealand and present address. They send it out within 10 to 20 days by email. Forward it to embassy, all should be good.
