any one applied with incomplete employer reference letter??

Please if you can share your experience? Its so ridiculous we have worked legitimately in fortune 500 company but they wont change there employment letter template but cic needs it ...

I agree with you dukhi. Especially those IT firms. They do not treat previous employees right. What are you planning to do? I am kinda in the same boat.

Not sure what to do...looking for any body who has applied being in our position...may that can give us some hint

Thanks ...really helpful...but i guess some one who has gone through or going through with such a letter might be able to better share his experience

I couldn't agree more. Have you thought of going to the FSW threads and doing a search or post the question there? With FSW being around longer, you will have a better chance of getting "the voice of experience" there. Good luck and please share your findings here.

I have a similar problem. I got a reference letter from my previous companies HR department, but due to their policies my performed duties are not very detailed listed on that letter. And they can not modify it.
My direct manager could give me a detailed reference letter but she is no longer working for that company. Should I still ask her to write it for me or CIC won't accept it?
What do you think guys?

From my experiences, you should be fine.
I mean, if you have worked for a big company, then a standard letter should be fine provided you support that letter with offer letter, First two pay stubs, last 2 (most recent) pay stubs, t4s NOA. These proofs are enough to show CIC proof of employement.
I think its there for most of the other candidates who are working for small business just to prove that they are legit.

Yea but what to do about duties performed? Cause that's what CIC is looking for to determine your skilled position. Should I ask my old manager who is not working there anymore to describe the duties? And how to make it acceptable to CIC.

If your official letterhead says the same title, you should be okay.
Also, I guess the offer letter does describe your duties.
As long as your manager is writing duties, on the offical letterhead, CIC will accept it.

Write this in an explanation letter. You have made honest efforts and it should be okay.

If you have an ex-manager who is willing to write a duty letter for you I would say, "Yes Please!" Have him/her explain they have left the company, but have them include some proof of their past position there (business card, picture ID, etc). Good luck.
