Any news about ceremony in Sudbury, ON 2012?

Hi everyone,

I am a PR in Canada, been living here for over 10 years with my family still we didnt receive our citizenship yet ..
so however, we have met the judge on Monday June 29th, 2012, and they told us they will send us a letter within week to 10 days, we haven't heard anything from them.

Also, there is no one to talk to as they have closed the citizenship offices in here and now I have no idea who we should talk to or what should we do.

if anyone from Sudbury please and have the same issue , or have received a letter about the next ceremony, please let me know and I will do so if we ever hear anything.

Hello Wanas,

I live in Kirkland Lake and I am in the same boat as you. I took my exam on Feb. 27th and I have not received my oath letter either. I called CIC and was told that all Sudbury files have been transferred to Mississauga. She said I might have to wait up to 6 months from the test date to take my oath as that office is in chaos. 6 months brings it to August 27th. I have been checking this forum every day and many people who took the exam later than me (up to April/May) have already had the ceremony.

I think that all of us from the Sudbury office have been pushed to the back burner. I am giving it one more week and then I am calling again. I even tried to set up a ceremony to take place in Kirkland Lake for all of the northerners but I had no response from the Sudbury or Mississauga offices. I think we will have to go to Mississauga for the ceremony. That is a hardship for me since none of my family will be able to go.

Hi Jebba,

I am still waiting just as you are. I also took the exam at the end of February. When I contacted CIC they said to be patient - it could take until December to get the letter. Have you heard anything yet?

i haven't written the test yet and i received a letter to invite to the test in sudbury on nov 6. i received the letter on oct 16.
after reading your postings, i am aware of that sudbury has not held any oath ceremony since march 2012. did you get a letter to the oath ceremoney for nov6? the location is in a hotel?
the reason i am asking is to see if there is any chance i can get the test and ceremony done the same day cuz i have to drive for 2 hours to get to sudbury. thanks
