A few things please.
Is there anyone that is living in Nigeria who has had her/his sponsorship interview in accra? If yes, please can you share your experience. Did you get your visa the same day? or were you asked to come back?

Also, i heard that the IO can use her/his discretion to extend the medicals by four months. Is this true and has anyone has this experience or knows anyone that has?

This issue about showing phone/communication records, if you use one of the mobile service providers in Nigeria, they dont provide phone bills so how is it possible to show phone records?

Finally, does anyone have an idea if the Accra office will call up my husband to interview him as well?

They told my husband that the visa wouldn't be issued the same day, and it might be a couple of months later. (As it turned out, he was rejected.)
For the phone records, just tell the visa officer that you don't have the records, and explain why. However, even though the visa officers must know the phone situation in Nigeria, they don't care - they want to see phone records. I hope your husband has phone records from Canada.
They might call your husband - I (the Canadian) was interviewed during my husband's (the Nigerian) interview. but I was in Accra at the time.

I just happened to be in Accra. I was visiting my husband in Nigeria when he got the letter telling him to come for the interview, so I went with him. When the visa officer found out I was waiting outside, she called me in to interview me.
