A good lawyer will certainly help but concrete proof that her life is at risk is the best determinant of getting accepted as a protected person. If she was able to enter Canada she must have had a strong profile already. Is she arriving on vacation or as a student/worker? Is her home competed destroyed? Has she travelled to other parts of the country to seek safety? The asylum system is incredibly overwhelmed at the moment. If for example she is entering as a student, getting PR via being a student is a much better way to control whether you’ll be granted PR.
