I have a flight from US to Japan that transits through Canada at end August. I applied for the transit visa today. Does anyone know how long it takes to process the visa? Is there a way to expedite? Would be grateful for some help here, freaking out currently.
Any experience with applying for a transit visa for non-US citizens from the US?

There is no way to expedite. Posted processing time is 41 days but this is just an estimate. I would rebook to avoid transitting through Canada.
Assume you are not visa exempt and don't qualify for an eTA.
Flight is at the end of August so all you can do is wait or change flights and pay fees to not transit through Canada .
Why did you book and pay for a flight transiting a country you currently don’t have valid travel documents for ?
Options are either to wait and cross your fingers it's approved on time or to change your flight to avoid transitting through Canada. No other options.
