On 29th July 2010 I submitted my file to CHC Chandigarh under SPP and today on 30th July I got a call from Canadian Consulate Chandigarh. At first I got shocked cause of my very nature. But I tried to do best. I was fluent but not confident enough. They just asked about my education background, what ur father doing, loan amount, which bank, what you did after May 2008 that is when I completed my B.tech. I explained them correctly but with some fambleness. I could have done much better than this because I was not expecting interview in just 1 day after my file submission. In my opinion I did average not good but not bad also. I would like to know what is the purpose of this call? What % of people they call for telephonic or personal interview? Do they usally get Visa?

EARTHLOVER: There are no available statistics on things like what % of visas get interview, rejection etc. Since you got the call it is better than getting an outright rejection, which is what happens in many cases. This basically means they had some doubts and have given you an opportunity to address them. Every case is different and any number of things can create doubt in the minds of an officer.

There is so much fraud in this country with all these crooked "consultants" trying to make money at any costs ... making fake bank loans .. manufacturing documents etc. that we are all paying the price. Try to put youself in their shoes .. how can an officer distinguish the authentic applicants from fraudulent ones?

So don't worry about it, just hope for the best.

Hi Amathen

I just want to know that the caller surely would have recognized from my voice that I am very nervous. But I told them everything in the same way as presented in my file. Do my nervousness will effect there decision or just they are verifying info given my me.
