Any 2015 Outland Spousal still waiting for DM?

I am sponsoring my husband from Iraq since Sep 2015. We are still stuck at the security check since January 2017. Anyone in the same position??

Yup i am ...sent file nov 2015 ...hubby from afghanistan ..security since jan 2017

I pray that we get an answer by the end of December. On the CIC website, they say they will finalize 80% of all applications. I am brcoming so drpressed. It has been a long wait.

Mp told me that 80% doesnt apply to us ...since they r doing comprehensive srcurity check we come in 20% ...meaning no time frame ... im depressed tooo ... i m just out of luck

I’m curious.. why is the process so long? I’ve never heard of an Outland application taking this long..?

No idea...to be honest feels like they are discriminating against muslims ... most of the applicants left are from iraq..iran..pakistan...afghanistan..

- they r assigned comprehensive security checks ...our case is simple ..my hubby is educated n phd student ..not really sure wt they r checking

That sucks.. maybe it’s harder to do a background/security check in certain countries?

My husband travelled to europe but he has a clean record. We are suffering so much. I don’t know what to do. I just cry. We muslims are not criminals. We are just like everyone else. Its not fair .

I have become really depressed. I wish I could pay extra money for my husband to come and gor this wait time to be over. Im praying yo get an answer in December insha Allah. I pray for everyone honestly.
