Hi All,

When dependents are under 22 year of age and are involved in the sponsorship (half-siblings), is financial obligation for 20 years or until they 25 years of age.

If someone can PLEASE provide clarification that would be greatly appreciated as it is not entirely clear as per explanations provided by IRCC.

Looks like you're asking about parent / grandparent sponsorship - if so, the answer is 20 years. Everyone included in the parent / grandparent application (including dependents) falls under the 20 year rule.

To the best of my knowledge it's actually 20 years for dependents included in parent / grandparent sponsorship applications. The 20 years applies to everyone included in the application per the application guide:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5772-application-sponsor-parents-grandparents.html

When you sponsor a parent or a grandparent, the undertaking is valid for 20 years, and for all persons included in the sponsorship undertaking.

Okay thank I was looking at dependent child on its own merit, not including in parent and grandparents sponsorship application.
