Anchor US baby - is this a problem with my PR?

Hello dear members,

I got and ITA, and I'm gathering the required documents.
I'm not a citizen of the US and don't live there, but I had my 2 kids born there, so they have the US citizenship.

My question is:
will this affect my PR status under the (Info Sharing) Security section???

I was denied to renew my Visa to the US because of my anchor babies, and I stated this in my EE application... will this be a reason to refuse to grant me the PR?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
'Anchor baby' is a derogatory term used by people of anti-immigrant mindset. Unless you were convicted of any crime or were deported, having a US citizen child is not a ground for refusal.

Tks Dreamer ;)

No, nothing related to crimes or deporting... it's just the US Visa offices are clearly denying me a Visa because of my 9 and 11 years boys ;) I hope this will not be reflected in the info sharing section, and if it did, I still hope that Canada will not block me for this...
As, all my other credentials and qualifications are on a good standard

1. The US visa offices are denying you visas for your boys because they are US citizens, don't require a visa for the US, but an US passport.

^ I think OP simply misused a conjunction word, it should be "because" instead of "for", as she's already explained in the original post.

@ fkst: Not sure, but you will have to declare your US visa refusal in your PR application.

Think you read incorrectly. It is the OP who is being denied the US visa. Yes likely for staying in the country to have her children. Might have be misrepresenting that she was pregnant. Might also have outstanding hospital bills and also may have overstayed. Don't know the whole story.

This doesn't have an impact on Canada PR application as you intend to settle their while US may deny visa on grounds that you may not return or so on.

However, many people don't know but in Canada as well an exposure draft is already in place to stop "birth tourism" and abuse of citizenship rules. In 2018-19 the law is expected to pass allowing citizenship on birth to only children born with at least one parent being a Permanent Residence.

However, due to this government being immigrant friendly this draft is not presented yet for voting but if government changes this bill will be passed.

I corrected the wording ;)

And yes, I did declare in the application that I was denied a US tourism visa...
Hope this is a good step.

Thanks for the reply...
I think I'm denied the visa, not because of any point that you mentioned (bills, over stay, misrepresentation), but for applying for the medicaid and getting accepted... I was totally eligible at that time for the program and didn't misrepresent any info.

So, you think that the PR situation is an opposite one to the tourism Visa, and there's a tendency to be accepted more than to be refused?
Or, you are sure of this????

For PR they don't consider these things in details however they will definitely see the status of each family members and expect an honest explanation.

So as long as you have mentioned the status clearly it will not be an issue. However, do check with CIC in regards to documents needed as this can be the only possible reason for rejection in this case.

What documents are you referring to when you say to check with CIC? they only ask for the passport information page and stamps to be uploaded.

Also, how to check with CIC?
