Hi Guys,

So normally I ask questions about the live-in Caregiver visa :) this time I want to know everything possible about applying for PR from outside of Canada.

Here is the situation.

I came to Canada to work as a live-in Caregiver for a few months while I complete my degree. I will leave Canada next week April 18,2012 to join my boyfriend who is in Europe at the moment. He is American. I am South African. He is a Physicist. I am a student. He will be in EU for the next two years while I work on my education and also do a Mandarin course at the University. We will possibly marry in a few months. Anyways....we both really love Canada (who doesn't!) ;) and want to settle here after his contract in Europe ends in two years. I guess we would like to start the Canadian visa process ASAP so that we have everything done in time!

He will want to work as a Professor possibly and I would like to do my Masters in Canada.

Please tell me ANYTHING you possibly can about the process, our possible options for visas, what we can do to obtain the best possible results, can we apply for PR or have to get another type of visa? What are the secret ingredients for a succesful application? We are not rich, we are still young and broke :) so financial stability is not going to help us much but my boyfriend does have a stable job and income. Tell me about the waiting time and the documents we need etc. I know there is info online but I would like to hear the do's and dont's from you guys! :) GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you!
