Hi all,

We just discovered that our orginal date of entry on the COPR is wrong. It is actually 10 years difference.

We would like to amend this but we have a few questions. We would highly appreciate it if you could help.

1- how long will it take to process the amendment? It says 6 months on their website. Does it take that long to fix a date?

2- we are now qualified to apply for the citizenship. Should we apply before receiving the amendment? Or this will result in rejecting our application?

Thank you in advance

COPR was printed prior to your arrival, it mainly contain your personal, passport and the file details i.e category in which you applied etc. On your arrival immigration office confirm the details and write date, flight, became PR on etc.

Your became PR date is important, if in PR card all dates and details are correct then don't bother to change in COPR.

In my case country of birth was wrong and it also shows in PR. I got corrected one after 5 month. In between I applied the citizenship application with original COPR but enter right details in form. Moreover you cant check the status after applying for amendmend like other application

I had my date of entry wrong, and got it fixed in 4 months. It's difficult to say whether you should go ahead with application with the wrong COPR or not. If you are already eligible to apply, you should go ahead because if the application is returned, so what? Nothing to lose.
