Hi,

I landed in 2011 and completed 3 yrs. (1095 days) stay in Dec 2014..

as per CIC site stay calculation, I am qualified to apply for citizenship...


Can someone please let me know, what happened to 4 yrs. stay rule; someone told that that rule would be activated / applied from June 2015,
and if I apply anytime before that I am good enough.
and if I delay and applied in June 2015, then I would need to wait for 4 years completion..

Is this correct?

The exact date that the "4 out of 6" rule takes effect is not known, but it is likely to be sometime this summer. Yes, if you apply before that date you are eligible now. If you wait until after that date, you will need to accumulate four years of residence in Canada before applying.
