Hello, I just have a question, whether am I eligible for Fed. skilled worker class or Candian Experience class? I'm at Canada now in Workpermit (Intra-Company Transfer). Engineering degree holder, age: 38,Family with 2 kids. I came to Canada first time on 2009 May 11th to 30th Sept 2009 (4.5months) in WP (Intr company transfer). Last year I came on 01Apr2012 and I will be here till March 29th 2013 in WP (Intra company trasfer, Position: Mechanical Engineer, Have visa till 1st April 2013). Will it be consider as 1 yr Canadian experience since 2 or 3 days left to complete 1 yr this term.

Do I need to be here at Canada even after completion of 1 yr (Basically my work permit going to end on March 2013) for CEC class?.

I'm from India and had 3 yrs experience in USA. Total of more than 10 yrs experience as a Mech.engineer .

Thanks in advance.

your CEC eligibility will be based on your:

-Work position (if it's under Skilled Level 0, A, B)
-IELTS score
-Reference letter(s)
-Police Clearance letter
-other required documents

you can use the below link to check if you are eligible:

Thanks Johnny. I need to explore more.
Since I'm in WP , intra company transfer and My company sending back to my country on end of March (My WP expires on 30March).

-My occupation as Mechanical Engineer (NOC code: 2132)
-I can score IELTS
-My employer wont give reference letter.
Do I need to be here in Canada to apply PR under CEC class?

Thanks for the guidance.

Hey,

After you completed your 12-months of work experience, you can apply in Canada or your home country (which ever is the best choice for you). Make sure to gather your documents based on the CEC checklist and follow exactly what it says!

Good Luck

Thanks Johny.

But Can I apply now? since I need to complete another 2 more months for a Year at Canada.
Hope they won't consider my previous experience 5months during 2009 (May to Sep 2009) since more then 3 yrs before.

You said you started working in April 1st of 2012? you can't apply now b.c it hasn't been a year. You need to wait until it's been 12 months before you can apply.

And you are right, your previous experience is more than 3 yrs old so it can't be counted towards your current experience.
