Hey Guys,

My timeline looks like follows:
1. Came to Ontario in August 2014.
2. Started a Masters in Engineering program at Queens University in September 2014.
3. Started a coop internship in Waterloo on March 2015. Completed internship in December 2015.
4. Graduated with a M.Eng degree in December 2015.
5. Got 3 years PGWP in Feb 2016.
6. Started full-time work (NOC A) in March 2016. Currently working the same job.

I am eligible for the Ontario PNP Masters stream and did apply for it in Feb 2015. But I missed a few documents and the application was rejected. Currently there is a temporary halt on the intake of applications in this steam but I do not want to wait.

I was wondering if there are any Federal streams I can apply for in the meantime.

I greatly appreciate your help! This forum is awesome :)

You certainly qualify to submit a profile under Express Entry / Federal Skilled Worker. Whether you'll be selected from the pool is a different matter. If you have more than 450 points, you'll probably be selected.

For Canadian Experience Class, you need at least 1 year of full time work experience. You won't have that until sometime in March of this year. Points also matter for this stream. Again, you want to have 450+.

Otherwise you can look into the Provincial Nominee programs. They are all a bit different, so you'll need to research each.

Thank you @scylla

Is there any disadvantage of creating an Express Entry profile if you are not selected, in terms of applying via this stream at a later date when you have more points?

Also I am assuming I cannot count my coop internship as full-time work even though I was working 40 hours a week and being paid on a full-time equivalent.

No disadvantages to creating a profile.

You cannot count your co-op.
