Hi Seniors/friends,

I am already in the express entry pool with 458 Points , I have been waiting there for a while but no luck.
Can I go ahead and apply for Student visa and open work permit for Spouse?
some consultant suggested that this should be fine and both student visa and open work permit for spouse will get accepted,
but some said since you are already in the pool, this will have adverse effect on the visa and it will get rejected.
some are suggesting that study permit might get approved; but open work permit will surely get rejected.
Can some please share their experiences on the same...or any sort of opinion?
Please suggest I am in a dilemma.

Well, when you're applying for a study visa you must prove that you don't plan to settle in Canada, that you have ties to your home country and that you will leave Canada at the end of your studies. And you're already showing the opposite by having your profile in the pool so your possibilities are pretty low, cic will find out.

Usually, VO's check for candidate details by entering Passport number in their database for travel history, previous rejections, background.
hence, your profile will reflect in the EE pool which renders you a potential migrate. You can submit a dual intention application which clearly states that you looking to migrate to canada post study. 458 is an average score and invitations are issued till 472.
hopefully they shall come down till 450 by year end depending on cap.
