Hi everyone, I'm panicking right now because I've just got back from the registry here in Calgary and they said I cannot put my wife as my dependant in my Alberta Health plan as her passport stamp is barely visible.

This got me really worried, because our paperwork for the sponsor application is almost done, but now I'm not sure they are going to accept her passport pictures showing her date of entry, as requested in the checklist bullet point "...dates and stamp made by a Canadian authority showing your most recent entry into Canada", I was also hoping to use the AH document to further prove the legitimacy of our relation, but now I'm at a loss.

Can I sent the sponsorship application with this (lack of) stamp anyway??????

Please help guys, her visa expires in November, 22nd, we are already behind schedule. Inland process btw.

Thank you so much.

Have you applied for an extension?

I don't think it would have any impact on a sponsorship application. It's not her fault if the stamp was low on ink that day. Furthermore, CBSA will have a record of her entry, so if CIC requests more proof you could always order that.

Best of luck with your application!

Thank you for your prompt response Cedeel! It was really reassuring.

Yeah it was such a bummer that the registry denied my request to add her as a dependent, I've requested a travellers history from CBSA online anyway but its going to take at least 30 days and I feel we can't afford the wait.

We are going to apply for the extension as soon as we send the application, we don't wan't to take any chances of it being denied, albeit, do you know if sending the application for extension with only the marriage certificate is enough for having an extension? Sorry for the Off Topic.

Kind regards! 8)

Hi

Don't stress about the stamp for the PR app. Many visitors don't even have their passports stamped on entry. This will not be an issue for CIC.

Submit the PR app now and include an OWP app. This will give her Implied Status after November 22nd and she does not need to apply to extend her status as a visitor.

As for Alberta Health, fight that. Submit a complaint to their office and to your Minister of Health.
