Hi All,

My daughter cam to Canada in visitor visa and then we changed status to study permit based on her mother's study permit. We had a mistake and got refuse her study permit, then she is now implied status. We resubmitted study permit and wait for decision now but her implied status will be expired in 10 May 2017. What should we do now, call or email CIC ask about status her study permit or continue waiting?

P/S: we resubmitted study permit 2 months ago, it is time CIC should have a feedback to us.

Thanks you for your help

Your question doesn't quite make sense.

She wouldn't have implied status if her application was refused. Maybe you mean that she is out of status in Canada and you have applied for restoration? Is May 10th the 90th day of the restoration period? If so and you have submitted a restoration application, then she can remain in Canada without status until a decision in the restoration application is made.

Thanks you Scylla, yes she is out of status and we already applied restoration period but I misunderstood that she only can stay in Canada within 90 days from the day her temporary implied status expired. So, she can stay in Canada until decision to be made.

Any benefit if I apply restoration period sooner instead of I can apply restoration period near 90 days allowable. I know a few people do that so that they can buy more time in Canada.
