Yes, that's the way to CAIPS.
There are couple of companies listed on this site those provide info. and svc charges varies according to the Co. and type of service required.

I am little bit curious about this 2nd AOR---Is this when CHC ask to re-confirm one's intention to continue... perhaps a year or more after application was submitted?

I had applied in 2008 but couldn't keep in touch regularly with this forum. So my understanding of AOR is"
A. 1st AOR : submission acknowledged and file number is issued.
B. 2nd AOR: during the processing period, asking if Candidate is still interested to continue? I guess it was a year or so after 1st AOR.
C. Sent some documents/brochure giving information on province I intend to settle (as mentioned in the application)

Is my understanding correct?
Now this is what has come to me in the last 2.5 yrs.

Dear Mayank

Even though I haven't availed CAIPS svc by myself, but in my simple understanding, you needs to pay a minimum fee to a 3rd party that would investigate and update you with the current status of your case and it may also give some inside information which otherwise may not be possible to source/access.
