Well dears there is a lot of cofusion on this forum about how much funds required to be shown?

For example:

some seniors say that if a person, including himself or herself, has a total of four familiy memebrs and these family members are not accompanying him to canada, he or she needs to declare funds required for all four members that is CAD 20,130

But on the other hand, some of my seniors are of the view that despite having four family members, if principal applicant is going alone to canada, he or she does not require to prove funds for all memebrs. He or she requires to declare CAD 10,833 only because it is the requirment for one person.

Seniors please tell us what is right?
Do we need to show funds for all family memebrs whether they accmpany or not?
Or
Funds for non accompanying memebrs need not to be declared?.

Also suggest some thing how can we minimize the ambiguities on this discussion forum so that authentic inf could be dilivered?

It is just a matter of understanding. This is the way I see and understand the situation, even though the CIC website does not give a breakdown of such a scenario. I am sure this is what CIC means.
When you fill in the form IMM0008egen, the first question you are required to answer is:
How many family members (including yourself) are included in this application for permanent residence in Canada? That is where you need to focus attention on when it comes to calculating the required funds.
e.g If you put in only 1 then CAD$10,833 will suffice and so on.

Or
Funds for non accompanying memebrs need not to be declared?.

If you read the Operational manual for skilled workers at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf you should note section 9.2 on page 18 where it says:
Note: In terms of funds required, the number of the applicant’s family members includes both
accompanying and non-accompanying dependants.
So it is clear that if a skilled worker decides to list his wife and kids and non-accompanying and sponsor them later, he will still need to show that he has enough funds for them.

The way you can limit misinformation is always question the answers you get, always ask for the source of the information, always do your own research as well and always correct people who you see are giving someone a wrong answer.

Thanks Leon.

9.2 Settlement funds

Pursuant to R76(1)(b), the officer will determine if the applicant has sufficient funds available for
settlement in Canada.

The amount of funds are assessed according to the applicant's family size using 50% of Statistics
Canada's most current Low Income Cut-off (LICO) for urban areas with populations of 500,000 or
more.

Note: In terms of funds required, the number of the applicant's family members includes both
accompanying and non-accompanying dependants.

Although the amount may change yearly, at time of publication the required funds are equal to or
greater than the amount listed below for each family size:

Number of Funds Exception
family required
members

1 $10,833 If the applicant has arranged employment as defined in R82,
they do not have to meet these financial requirements

2 $13,486

3 $16,580

4 $20,130

5 $22,831

6 $25,749

7 or more $28,668

The funds must be:

• available and transferable;

• unencumbered by debts or other obligations.
