My partner and I BOTH use aliases (eg: Sam instead of our native, chinese name which is usually hard to pronounce in English).

Is this ok? ALL of our letters of support and what not we are known for our alias or "nick names". Only our legal documents have our legal names. Can this be explained? If the officer calls a friend, and mentions our legal name, they will not know who we are as we never use them unless if required (eg license)...

Thanks

Question 2
Nickname/Alias
Check the box to indicate if you have ever used any other name than those indicated in question one. This could be your birth name, maiden name, married name, nickname, etc. If “Yes”, provide your nickname/alias by indicating it in the family name and given name(s) fields.

you may also provide an explanation letter

No problem at all. Put your aliases in the required boxes and you can put an additional explanation on a separate sheet of paper. Chinese people taking English sounding names is very common and something the officers working on your case will have encountered already.
