Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training Approval Letter..HELP!!!!

My spouse have applied to AIT Experience Class for Millwrights from here in Jamaica. He is currently waiting on his approval letter. I am currently trying to see if he can get a job offer from outside of Canada. It seems pretty tough. What really does getting this Approval Letter really means?

Hi, my husband got his approval from AIT back in November but for Automotive Service Technician. It took approximately 8 weeks to receive. They looked into his work history and assessed his certificates. He has till November this year to start work over in canada ( we are in the UK still waiting on LMIA but that's another story!) and then he will need to sit his Red Seal Exam within 6 months. You will need this approval to enable you to get a work permit before you can start work in your chosen area. As for helping finding a job this can only be an added bonus that you already have this in place. My husband was offered a job before we looked into AIT. Thanks for the info! It was good you guys started the job hunt before Express Entry as everything else seem to have tightened up since. He has until Jul next year to get a job offer. None yet as most do not have LMIA. SMH!
