I used to live in BC so I was looking for the companies in BC. However, most companies wanted to hire someone with a little bit of experience.
How can I get experience without being hired?
I started looking for jobs in other provinces but couldn't find one either. I came to know many apprentices start their career as a Ramp or Cargo attendant.
One day I received a phone call from the company that I am working for and it was for a Ramp attendant. I flew to Winnipeg, had an interview, and got hired two weeks after the interview.
I moved to Winnipeg from Vancouver at my own expense.
After working for three months as a cargo agent, I got transfered to maintennace department through an internal hiring process.
If you don't mind, try Ramp or Cargo jobs in an airline company, not for the aircraft ground service companies.
Persistence really works. It will pay off.
