Hello,

I've accepted the fact that I might have to stop working because of my work permit expiry date and the gap in processing times under the endorsement approval. However, I'm aware of the 90 day restoration period and would like to know if I still need to apply for a visitor visa to stay in Canada or does this restoration period allow me to stay even with an expired visa back from when I first came in as a student in 2022?

You are out of status in Canada during restoration, meaning you have no legal status in Canada. You need to apply to change your status to visitor before your work permit ends to avoid falling out of status in Canada.

The restoration period is the time that you can STILL apply to restore your status as visitor.
If the expiry date has past this 90 day period you can't event apply to restore your status as visitor and you will have NO legal status in Canada.
I am not familiar with "endorsement approval" and if that allow you to apply for any type of temp status.
