AINP-H1b Timeline

Hello,

Here's what has happened so far.

I filed for pre-assessment and initial documents in May 2009 under the US H1b category. In Sept 2009, I got an e-mail requesting for further documentation, which I sent before Oct 01, 2009. Couple of weeks ago, I called the AINP contact center and asked for the status of my case and the representative gave me a file no.

Now, presently, I am visiting my home country and have been out of the US sine last 3 months. Also, I'll be changing my US employer while getting back to the US. Could somebody please let me know as to what does this file no mean and what I am supposed to do in this situation. I am expecting to get back to the US, with a new H1b employer, in next 3-4 months.

I applied in May 2009 and AINP has sent letter to me and many others in the forum (even after getting File Number) that they are closing the file and can consider the application if one has a job offer. Did you not receive that yet?
