Hello guys,
I was just wondering and would like to ask for your experiences.
While applying for Alberta nomination, they reserve the right to contact your current employer, if something is not crear for them in your paperwork - i.e. employment history etc. I do understand, that they likely try to avoid it (they also mention that they will contact you first), as many of us simply wouldn't like our current employer to receive such a call.
Has anybody had any situation, that Alberta official contacted his/her current employer in U.S. (H1B)? I am simply afraid, that my employer may want to lay me off immediately upon finding out, that I pursue PR process in Canada on my own. Do they REALLY contact an U.S. employers and what do they ask for? As long as you will send them a copy of your recent H1B application filed on your behalf, together with employment confirmation letter, describing your duties (on current company letterhead), is that going to be satisfactory enough? My employer filed on my PR in U.S. some time ago, but I want to try Canadian process on my own - I know that these processes are completely separate and different, but I think that such a potential phone call can jeopardize my current job.
Any past experiences and suggestions/reflexions will be greatly appreciated.
