I am applying for residency in Alberta & have read about AHCIP. Am I eligible to get it once I have my OWP or do I have to wait for sponsor approval? We are applying through common-law spouse, not married spouse.

If you are common law with legal visitor or work status you can get it right away. If you are out of status you have to wait on until you receive AIP.
