Hi all, my father is 64 years old. He used to be a national level volleyball head coach and is currently an active FIVB (Federation of International Volleyball) instructor (there are only a very limited number in the world). The FIVB instructor job is more like a contracting job. It's very likely that he would find a coaching position if he came to Canada. Therefore, we are considering applying him for the self-employed route. As you all know, the parents immigration route is on hold now.

Although he scores 62 points (0 point from age, 35 in experience, 22 in education and 5 in adaptability), I wonder whether the age of 64 is till a big problem to go with this route. What's your opinion?

Thanks.

Hunter

There is no age limit, but have to score 67 points or more
Self employed has a different points system. The minimum required to qualify is 35 points (not 67). See:
