Hi Friends,

Is there any age limit for international students to study in Canada? How many years of gap in education is accepted in Canadian Universities? One of my friend has a year gap between his Under graduate degree and post graduate degree, and he completed PG in 2012. He has 4 years of work experience. Will the work experience to be considered as education gap to study in Canada? Need advice on this.

ref age 70 might be considered a problem but generally age not an issue depends on the college/uni and of course a consideration for permit but what age we talking about ? Age of course becomes an issue down the line for PR applications.

See this old thread as well age no barrier as long as intent genuine http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/study-permit-is-age-a-barrier-please-help-t117791.0.html

A one year gap in education and 4 years work is nothing when considering a study permit plenty of posts in the international student section with much longer timescales.

Study permits are considered on a range of factors such as qualifications to date, work experience and relevance of chosen course to both qualifications and experience plus longer term career objectives. So basically not some random course chosen just to come to Canada.

Add to that financial capability to cover international fees and some indication of ties to home country once education completed even though everyone accepts that many have longer term plan intended.

For some better feedback maybe post more details in the international student section such as as qualifications and proposed course .
