- Your EE profile and the fact you have a family friend in Canada are both irrelevant to the study permit application.
- You will want to apply for either a post graduate diploma or Master's in Canada in an aread that is relevant to your previous education and work experience.
- Since your aim is to get PR, you should take a 2 year program so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP. A 1 year program is not a good plan if your aim is PR.
- To be approved for the study permit, you'll need to show you have enough funds to cover first year tuition + $10,000 in living expenses if you are coming alone. This will likely amount to at least $25,000.
- If you have funds of $30K then this is enough for you to come alone but not enough for your spouse and children to accompany you.

Oh thank you for the informative replay, I would ask about is there any cheaper option like in any other provinces to study in?
