Hi all
I did the landing process at Toronto international airport few days ago and the officer signed both COPR and returned one copy to me, as well as collected my Canadian residence address and told me I should be expect to receive the PR card within 60 days.
I tried to follow the instructions found online and in this forum to try link the PR card application with my GC key account, however after trying out for multiple days with different variation of my UCI and information they are all unsuccessful.
I contacted IRCC and was told that in their internal system my immigration status is still marked as temporary resident and there has been no application for PR card being created! However, they do confirmed that the address I gave to the officer at the border is updated in my profile, and advised me to check back after 6 business days and only after that they can initiates an action with the border officer /CBSA to see what happened and next steps.
Wondering is this a common scenario, should I be worried? I assume the PR status is granted the moment the COPR is signed and I waled out of the CBSA office, could this be due to it takes time for their office to input those information and update in the system? I thought in typical cases, the PR status is immediately confirmed and updated during landing as well as the creation of PR card application.
Appreciate any inputs and help, thank you!
