Hi friends,

I have this very important question in my mind which is stopping me from applying for PR under AINP category.

After getting PR under AINP category, what are the compulsory steps that you must perform ?
Are we required to enter canada via Alberta only ?

Can we go to any other state and work ?
If Yes and I go to other state and work, would it create a problem in future while getting the Citizenship ?
If No, Is there any minimum time limit for which you need to work in Alberta state before you can go to any other state and work ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Tarun

This is my case under AINP (Alberta Immigration Nominee Program)

Well let said that you got your PR by AINP and land in Alberta and the very next day you move to Toronto, you'll need your social security card and that will come with Toronto address, then you need to paid your taxes and those will come with Toronto address and your PR card will have a Toronto address.

When you receive your AINP it comes with PN Status Update form and this one you need to Fax it back to the immigration officer in Alberta, the updates are:

- Date PN landed
- Current resident and mailing address
- Current telephone number
- Current e-mail address

Also at the end of the nomination letter from the officer said:

"You will contacted to complete a questionnaire once you become PR"

So in my point of view you need to try to settle for a while in Alberta, let said 6 months at least, so you can prove that you try and nothing happened.

This program is so new (one year next month) nobody knows if in the future for citizenship you'll be denied or not because you land in Alberta under AINP and move to another province the next day.

Also check this :

24. Do I have to live / work in Alberta?
A candidate must demonstrate a clear ability and intention to
establish permanently in Alberta. You are expected to complete
the landing process in Alberta. If you plan on residing in
another province, you should contact the other province to
explore their immigration options.

Hope this helps

Good Luck!

Look you don't search before you post., and if you plan to move from Alberta why are you planing to apply there. Give the chance to somebody that will leave there.

I dont even know what is good for me right now what is not. Thats why I wanted to see what all options are available to me.

Dont try be social servant and be Judgmental about my situation and why I should or should not apply.
If you dont want to say anything, just dont. Reply only if you have useful information.

And FYI, I did try to find out but could not find any useful information.
You are a regular on this website you might be knowing it all.

Go to the Province of your interest and ask them to nominate you. Please don't misuse and cheat with the AINP H1B SRS program.

Tarun here are my 2 cents ....

this questions you have asked have been already discussed in some threads right here in this
section of this forum ... i will request you to go thro them carefully

>After getting PR under AINP category, what are the compulsory steps that you must perform ?
I am not sure other steps ... but applicant must inform AINP about your whereabouts like address,
port of entry etc ...

>Are we required to enter canada via Alberta only ?
The best people to answer this question are the Alberta Hotline folks... but to my knowledge and from
the response I have personally receieved after talking to Alberta Hotline as of last 2 weeks ago was that
there is no such restriction... but yes AINP really wants candidates to land and as much as possible
settle in Alberta....

>Can we go to any other state and work ?
The Alberta Hotline categorically told me that they cannot hold the candidate if he finds job in other province...
but again I will reiterate you to directly talk to them...

>If Yes and I go to other state and work, would it create a problem in future while getting the Citizenship ?
>If No, Is there any minimum time limit for which you need to work in Alberta state before you can go to any
>other state and work ?

There is no injunction of working in Alberta only neither is there a timelimit.... but yes in the best interest
of Alberta the candidate must make and try to put in every effort to stay in Alberta... and at the very least
candidate is expected to make a beginning by landing in Alberta....

Hope you find peace and can only suggest you to take some things here less "seriously"... and good luck !
