After docs uploaded....does CIC send email notifications as file moves forward?

Hi,

After documents are uploaded, do we get email notifications for all updates like medical passed, etc etc? OR we have to keep checking
myCIC?

I got notifications for a document request, for medicals passed and for the start of the background check. However, I think sometimes it also happens without the email. (And in my case, the emails came 1-3 days after the actual update...)
