I am optimistically hoping to go to Canada while our application for Common Law spouse is in process. I have so much to do in preparation for my spouse to come there and live with me.

Is it going to be a problem if I return to Canada for a couple of months while waiting for the results of the PR application.

Regards,

Raymond.

No - separation of short periods is allowed in common-law qualification. Read through the info in Sections 5.34-5.36 of the OP2 Processing Manual.

Thanks so much for your response, I did read that but I believe they are referring to short absences during the 12 month period to qualify as a common law couple.

I am referring to once we send the application to Canada and our 12 month continuous period is over, is it ok at that time to leave and return to Canada for a couple of months while waiting for their decision?

Regards,

Raymond
